President of Turkmenistan convened a working video-selector meeting

On March 14, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a regular working video-selector meeting with participation of the Cabinet Deputy Chairpersons, the Manager of the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city to consider the implementation progress of complex reforms ongoing in the country and priorities of socio-economic development of the capital and regions.

Opening the meeting, the head of state first gave the floor to Khyakim of Ashgabat city Abilov who reported on the state of affairs in the capital, and the measures taken to beautify the city, including the works, which are carried out to create green zones and keep cleanness of the capital’s etraps. The report also included the information about the program developed with the aim to accelerate the various facilities construction paces in Ashgabat, as well as the action plan of festivities to be organized at high level to celebrate the upcoming holiday. The khyakim’s report covered the preparations for the Nationwide Trees-Planting Campaign (yovar) to be held on March 19. As was informed, the land plots were determined where the selected varieties of trees will be planted.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the need to take a responsible and complex approach to the implementation of the country’s capital city Development Concept, and ensuring ecological safety in Ashgabat. The nation’s leader gave the khyakim a number of assignments on landscaping and keeping cleanliness in white-marbled Ashgabat, and preparations for the nationwide yovar to be held on Saturday, demanding to organize this mass campaign at the high level.

Focusing on the issues of development of the capital’s etraps, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov demanded to keep under constant control modernization of the transport system in Ashgabat, the construction progress of roads, bridges and other facilities in the city. The head of state also gave the khyakim a number of commissions on holding festivities in the capital on occasion of National Spring Holiday, development of the relevant cultural actions program, and creating conditions for active participation of the population in festive events.

The head of state simultaneously called to a video-conferencing Cabinet Deputy Chairman, Manager of the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Sh. Durdylyev, who is responsible for Ashgabat city.

The meeting was continued with the detailed report given by the khyakim of Ashgabat city concerning the monuments to be built at the crossroads of streets and avenues in different parts of the capital. The relevant projects were presented for consideration by the nation’s leader.

The President of Turkmenistan commissioned to keep under the strict control all works ongoing in the country’s capital city, in particular, the quality of architectural designs and accomplishment of streets and building facades. Having reviewed the projects, the nation’s leader made a number of comments and introduced relevant changes. The head of state offered to give the following names to the new monuments: at the crossroad of N. Andalib Street and Oguzhan Avenue – “Dowamat daragty”; at the crossroad of N. Andalib and Galkynysh Streets – “Ösüş binasy”; at the crossroad of N. Andalib Street and Georogly Avenue – “Alaw binasy”; at the crossroad of N. Andalib and A. Berdiev Streets – “Döredijilik binasy”; at the crossroad of N. Andalib and Khoja Akhmet Yasawi Streets – “Şahyr binasy”; at the crossroad of Magtymguly Avenue and A.Annaev Street – “Çemen binasy”, and in the territory of Keshi residential area – “Tehnologiýalar binasy”.

The projects of facilities under construction and buildings in the planning stage have to meet the modern requirements. It’s important that they reflect the country’s rapid development and harmoniously blend with the capital’s architectural shape, the President of Turkmenistan continued, having addressed the vice-premier and the khyakim a number of concrete instructions in this respect.

Further, the khyakims of velayats reported on the state of affairs in the regions, implementation of the National Rural Development Program, as well as the measures taken to ensure well-organized cotton planting. The khyakims also reported on the program of upcoming festive events and the work pace at construction sites in the velayats.

Emphasizing the need for speeding-up the implementation of reforms in an agricultural complex, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov assigned to keep the spotlight on the issues related to timely carrying out of large-scale activities on the regions’ agricultural lands, as well as to preparations for cotton sowing.

Stressing the importance of appropriate measures on enhancing the efficiency of current activities in livestock farms, the nation’s leader gave the khyakims a number of issue-related instructions.

The President of Turkmenistan also assigned to ensure the high organizational level of the nationwide yovar on March 19, and cultural events in honor of the International Novruz Holiday. The leader of nation commissioned to organize duties at institutions and enterprises of velayats during holidays.

During the working meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on appointment of B. Allakov Deputy Khyakim of Birata etrap of Lebap velayat.

Summing up the detailed discussions, the leader of nation stressed the importance of issues considered at the video-selector meeting. Emphasizing that the successful tackling of priority tasks is the main present-day requirement, the head of state once again drew attention of the attending officials to the need to join efforts of the relevant agencies in strengthening of the country’s economic power.
